Owner Manager Program – August 2019 [Completed]

The twelfth Australian Owner Manager Program (OMP12) will kick off in Queensland this August. The Owner Manager Program is built on a successful model that has been running for seven years in Australia and 18 years in New Zealand. Each program is uniquely developed to meet the needs of the participants and businesses involved and ensure content evolves and exceeds best-practice. NAB also continues to provide select part scholarships for their clients to complete the program. There is a base scholarship level and an additional internal scholarship for female business owners.

This program will once again be facilitated by Mandy Johnson & Alan Scott. Mandy Johnson is a bestselling author, keynote speaker and business advisor. She holds the record as the youngest-ever director of global travel retailer Flight Centre Limited, as a start-up founder of their UK operation. Mandy now writes, speaks and advises organisations on innovative, evidence-based techniques that increase employee engagement, solve business challenges and transform profitability. Participant love her feedback on the people side of the business, extracting many hours of free advice around hiring, selection, retention, and performance.

Alan Scott has had over 30 years of experience in professional services, he is an ex-Deloitte Partner and was also Dean of the Deloitte Asia Pacific Fundamentals of Facilitation Program. Alan now focuses on working with businesses to build internal capability for external excellence, with a recognition of the role systems play in that organisational or personal transformation. These systems incorporate technology, process, people and our own internal systems such as beliefs, passions and motivations.

Over the years the Owner Manager Program has been described by participants as transformative. “There is a special kind of alchemy that occurs when you bring together a group of like-minded business owners,” said Australian Owner Manager Executive Director Rob Douglas. “Owner Managers are often isolated and under-resourced. There is often a palpable sense of energy in the room when participants realise other business owners are facing similar opportunities and challenges.”

“We connect participants with presenters who have real experience in creating extraordinary businesses. Participants find their tribe, reconnect with their passion and develop a clear blueprint of what to do next,” said Rob.

Participants of the Owner Manager Program consistently report improved profitability, business satisfaction and work-life balance. “The Owner Manager Program gave me the tools I needed to improve my business,” said John Keleher, co-owner of Australian Lawn Concepts. “It stepped us through a journey that was at a pace I could implement my learning while still conducting my business.”

“The Owner Manager Program gave us access to speak to successful business owners and experts who are out of our day to day reach. People I would never have been able to talk to without this program,” said Lou Mostert of ABP Group. “The facilitators have been first class. They have a genuine interest and passion for making sure your business is on the right track.”

Australian Owner Manager is building a unique network and education opportunities for mid-size business owners. “We are privileged to be able to work with extraordinary businesses and owners and help them develop their next steps, whether that be growth, succession or exit,” said Rob.
