Program founder, Rob Douglas, was the Director of Executive Education at The University of Queensland Business School where he developed the Australian Owner Manager Program (OMP) in conjunction with the Icehouse. The program was commercialised in 2017 with UQ continuing as a foundation partner.

The icehouse business accelerator

The Icehouse is Australasia’s leading business accelerator and growth hub. They were a key partner in the development of the Australian Owner Manager Program, as a similar program has been run in New Zealand for 10 years. 

The Icehouse works with a wide range of businesses at various stages of growth – from entrepreneurs launching new ventures through to successful owner-managers wanting to take their business to the next level. The Icehouse was founded in Auckland, NZ in 2001 and have worked with over 5,000 ambitious owner-managers and entrepreneurs. Ford Health has partnered with Australian Owner Manager from the inception of the program. They are experts in business owner health and resilience and are committed to improving their client’s health and wellbeing. 

Ford Health provides executive health checks, health assessments, and employee wellbeing programs which focus on the employee and their individual circumstances as well as the specific needs of the organisation. They are a core presenter for the Owner Manager Program.



MYMAX is an Australian Owner Manager program partner from the programs inception. MYMAX is a Brisbane-based investing and consulting firm, specialising in accelerated growth and exit strategies for private companies. The investing division focuses on growth companies requiring additional capital to expand and/or develop the business with a clear goal to maximise an exit value. The consulting division specialises in accelerated growth, focusing on the business model, and exit strategies for owners – from management succession right through to partial or total business sale.
