The Team Leader Masterclass is a 3-day practical, intensive, skills-based leadership masterclass designed for operational team leaders. The program shifts the mindset of Team Leaders and enhances their skills to achieve greater results through their team. The Team Leaders Masterclass will tighten the alignment between your employee’s actions, KPI performance and business goals.

Who is the Team Leader Masterclass for?

For those Team Leaders in private companies, who need to enhance their effectiveness in building, managing, and leading a team. Suitable for new and existing Team Leaders in an operational or office environment.

Note, this masterclass is not designed for Senior Managers who are functional leaders who have strategic responsibilities within the business. For Senior Managers, you may be interested in the

Learning model

The Masterclass is made up of a 2-day workshop with a 1-day recall workshop 4 – 6 weeks later. The workshop sessions are practical, interactive and designed around the application of team management tools and techniques to get lasting change. The project applies the skills learned to solve an issue in the workplace that relates to improved profit, productivity, culture, communication or systems.

How this masterclass different from others?

Excellent leadership relies heavily on a leadership mindset and communication style. This Masterclass focuses heavily on shifting what you think good leadership looks like, thus learning that how you treat people has a direct impact on how they behave. Team leaders will learn how to identify and stay focused on priorities to stay out of crisis mode and importantly, ensure that delegation and development go hand-in-hand with building team capabilities.

This is a highly interactive practical face-to-face program led by genuine experts who get real results from team leaders. It’s not comparable to online or bums-on-seats types of courses.

Primary Facilitator: Shirley Smith

Shirley Smith has trained and coached over 3,000 people managers at Team Leader, Middle Manager and Senior Manager levels. She is the director of SAS Change Management, a consultancy that creates momentum in organisations by working with the Leadership.

Her previous experience includes:

  • General Manager of Human Resources for a National Hotel Group (1,000 employees).
  • Led change management programs for organisations including American Express, Brambles, NSW Rail, Optus and other private businesses.
  • Training Manager for an Industry Training Committee.
  • District Sales Manager NSW.

Education:

  • Majored in Psychology and Sociology at ANU
  • Advanced Management Diploma (Mt Eliza Business School MBA)
  • Accredited in Belbin Team Roles, DISC Profiling, Myers Briggs, Team Management Systems Profiling, IMPACTS Sales Program and Valuing Diversity, Practising Inclusion Program.
Facilitators and Presenters

The OM Leadership Program uses similar models and approaches that are used as part of the Owner Manager Program. This approach ensures participants are gaining practical knowledge from experts and that their learning is aligned with the outcomes of the OMP.
