Staying on Track: A Strategy Checklist for OMP Alumni

Strategy Checklist for OMP Alumni

As you return to the office and shake off your holiday hangover, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands of the year ahead.

But staying on track with your long-term strategy is essential to achieving the goals you set during your Owner Manager Program journey.

Here’s a quick checklist to help you stay focused and set yourself up for a strong year ahead.

  1. Review Your Strategy and Goals

Take a moment to revisit the personal and business strategy you outlined last year or during OMP. Are your goals still relevant, or do they need adjusting in light of recent developments? Keeping your objectives aligned with the current personal and business landscape ensures you’re moving in the right direction.

  1. Break It Down

Overall goals and strategies can feel overwhelming, so break them into smaller, actionable steps. Prioritise tasks and set deadlines to maintain momentum without feeling daunted by the bigger picture.

  1. Check Your Metrics

Having one or two key metrics that really drive your business makes a big difference. If you don’t have these metrics, review what really drives success for your business. Regularly reviewing your metrics can highlight what’s working and where you need to change.  Use these insights to inform your next steps.

  1. Stay Accountable

Accountability is a powerful motivator. Reconnect with our team, OMP facilitators, or fellow alumni to share updates, seek advice, or gain a fresh perspective. You’re part of a supportive community – don’t hesitate to reach out.

  1. Celebrate Wins, Big and Small

Taking the time to acknowledge progress keeps you and your team motivated. Celebrate the small wins as well as the major milestones to foster a positive mindset. Remember to keep us updated – we love giving a shout out to the wider OM community on your behalf.

  1. Ask for Help When Needed

Remember, you’re not alone. We have a vast network of people and resources that we can draw on to help you. Whether you’re facing challenging staff, difficulty hiring, developing your management team, or finding opportunities for growth – reach out and we will point you in the right direction.

  1. Consider Your Next Growth Opportunity

For those looking to build on the momentum from OMP, the OMX program is coming up in May. This alumni-only program is designed to deepen your skills and ensure you’re continually driving value for your business. It’s the perfect next step on your OMP journey.

  1. Refocus on Work-Life Balance

Finally, remember that building a sustainable business starts with taking care of yourself. Make time for the things that recharge you and keep you focused for the challenges ahead.

By staying intentional and proactive, you can keep your business strategy on track while navigating the demands of the year. Here’s to a productive and fulfilling year ahead!

Need a Hand? We’re here to support you. Feel free to reach out to our team or your OMP network if you need guidance or simply want to reconnect.
